Have you ever thought of working at Trivec? How that would be? Keep reading, you will find your answer in the following paragraphs.

I’m Margaux and as you might have guessed I’m an apprentice at Trivec! Which means, alongside my marketing studies I am also working at Trivec. The combination of learning the theory and getting hands-on experience is, in my opinion, the best way to learn anything.

My role at Trivec? I help the company build a brand by increasing the visibility and communicating our values. In other words, I’m a Marketing Assistant.

My first encounter with the world of cash registers

My internship with Trivec started early September [2019]. I was introduced to the world of cash registers in the CHR sector (cafes, hotels and restaurants). This was my very first encounter with this line of business, and I had no previous knowledge. This might seem trivial at first, but it’s quite a lot to learn.

Therefore, my colleagues have helped me get familiarized with the different products and the services we provide, namely:

  • Cash registers
  • Mobile solutions for tablets and smartphones
  • Beverage systems (automated beer and wine pumps and automatic bottle control)
  • Kiosks
  • Kitchen displays
  • Pager system
  • ... etc.

Enough to equip an entire establishment with quality products!

Regarding support services, Trivec has 24/7 assistance thanks to experienced staff. In order for our customers to have a smooth transition and get started with Trivec, the support team is there, helping them every step of the way.

Digital marketing – so much more than posting on Facebook

In terms of marketing, Trivec has not always been the most active company. The marketing department was first created in September of 2018 at the European headquarters in Stockholm, when Chief Marketing Officer, Jenny Westerberg, joined the company. There is currently no marketing staff employed in France, and therefore Jenny started looking for a French intern – which was me!

What I find fascinating about digital marketing is the relationship with the customer [B2B] which is different from what I have experienced before [B2C], and all the new ways to communicate. There is always a new way as the marketing landscape changes. Today, customers and prospects can communicate with businesses at any time via social networks and websites, so the distance barrier no longer exists.

Digital marketing is a rather new concept and constantly evolving, so there are always new things to learn. Hence, I am often asked "what are you actually doing at work?" What is digital marketing? Believe me, digital marketing is not just about posting a photo on Facebook from time to time, it's so much more than that.

What I do at Trivec

Together with the Swedish marketing marketing team, we established what my responsibilities were going to be, which was all based on what we could accomplish through applying a clear marketing strategy.

What I find most interesting about interning at Trivec is that I discover and learn as I am developing our line of communication. It's a big responsibility for an apprentice, and I'm gradually gaining more autonomy.

My responsibilities are varied and include several aspects of the digital strategy:

  • Translations of blog articles from English to French
  • Interviewing French customers and writing customer testimonials
  • Publish relevant content on social networks
  • E-mail marketing
  • SEO
  • Competitor analysis
  • Data analysis
  • Content creation (Photoshop, Indesign, etc.)
  • Achieve objectives in the marketing plan

When France and Sweden meet

One of many rewarding aspects of my work for Trivec is the constant interaction with the marketing team based in Sweden. Not only am I developing my marketing knowledge, I am also maintaining my English and expanding my marketing “lexicon”. Win-win! 😉

The marketing team consisting of Jenny and Anna-Sofia (who is a Digital Marketing Specialists at Trivec) constantly help and guide me along the way. Since the team is based in Stockholm, I’m the only person in marketing in France. When I have questions, they are always there to help and guide me by sharing their knowledge.

We have monthly catch-up meetings with our digital team (which includes external marketing consultants) which I attend. This is where we analyze what we have accomplished during the past month, what to continue to do or what to stop doing, quality of leads and so forth. We always make sure to set new goals for the coming month.

Summary

The work-study program (internship) and more particularly: working for a company like Trivec, is helping me develop my skills quickly. Working in multinational teams from different countries is also very rewarding, since we all have different experiences.

Digital marketing is a very interesting and constantly evolving field. You never get bored since there is always something new to discover. The more I learn, the more it encourages me in my desire to continue in this sector.
