It was at the end of August that RedBull, Bacardi and Nobis Hotel together accomplished what many others had failed to do - to plan and pull off a secret concert.The luxury hotel, Nobis Hotel in Stockholm provided the perfect premises for the event, allowing guests to watch from a few tables in the restaurant, or through their hotel room windows as the stage was placed in the hotel's courtyard. This evening, Nobis Hotel introduced a new friend - namely Trivec Buddy.
A live performance within the boundaries of pandemic restrictions
During a warm August evening, live music filled Nobis Hotel and entertained the guests that were present. The stage was located in front of the restaurant's table service, which due to the pandemic only offered a limited number of seats.
Hosting the event at Nobis Hotel turned out to be a real success, as many of the guests could participate and at the same time stay within the boundaries of pandemic restrictions and recommendations. The 75-minute concert, hosted by the hotel, RedBull, Bacardi and the artist herself, was kept secret until the night of the event - which many others have tried to do in 2020, and failed.
The challenge: planning the secret concert in 8 weeks
"Under normal circumstances, you have about 9 months to plan an event like this," says Guadaloupe Banegas, Food & Beverage Manager at Nobis Hotel, "but we only had 8 weeks."
Planning a big, secret event together with suppliers at the same time as you are implementing a new product, that must perform and do everything right, is not easy. If you also more than halve the time for planning the event, there are many things that can go wrong.
“We knew that Blique by Nobis used Trivec Buddy, so we wanted to try it and see if it could be something good for us, too. I am super happy with the product. I am thankful for all the help from the employees at Trivec who, together with our staff, installed and tested all possible scenarios well in advance of the event", says Guadalupe.
”Everything worked out great, better than I could have imagined."
The installation meant that drink orders were sent to each floor's bar (4 floors) and all food orders were sent to the printer in the kitchen, which is located below the hotel's ground floor. "Everything worked out great," Guadalupe continues, "better than I could have imagined."
Trivec Buddy - the hotel guest's mobile ordering solution for room service
A large part of the hotel's rooms have windows facing the courtyard where the concert took place. Prior to the event, unique Trivec Buddy QR codes were placed in the rooms, which complemented the hotel's regular room service during the eventing.
"We created a menu that was unique for this event, and with Trivec Buddy we enabled our hotel guests to order and pay directly with their mobile phone," says Guadalupe.
"During this evening, we extended the regular room service with Trivec Buddy. The orders immediately registered in the POS system and were sent to the right printer. Trivec Buddy is simple for guests to understand, and because they can save their payment information it is quick if they want to order again."
"On a typical day, we only offer room service by phone on each floor. A staff member answers the phone and manually registers the order in the POS system. We value personal contact," Guadalupe says. "During this evening, we extended the regular room service with Trivec Buddy. Instead of using the phone, the orders were registered directly in the POS system and sent to the right printer. Trivec Buddy is simple for guests to understand, and because they can save their payment information it is quick if they want to order again."
This way, hotel guests could choose to enjoy the concert that took place in the courtyard, without the interruption of making phone calls.
